Description
- You will get 500g or 1.1LBs of the Blue Aquamarine Pebbles similar to the ones in the listing, the size and the color of the pebbles may slightly vary as well due to the fact that all minerals are different. (Photo are taken under bright light!)
- Aquamarine, named for the Latin phrase "water of the sea", is the blue to blue-green variety Beryl. Beryl also contains other gem varieties, including Emerald, and some lesser known varieties such as Morganite and Heliodor. Aquamarine ranges in color from a faint light blue to blue and bluish-green, with lighter colored stones being the more common type. Light green Beryl can be transformed into Aquamarine if heated to 750? F (400? C).
- Chemical Formula: Be3Al2SiO6; Color: Blue; Hardness: 7.5 - 8.0; Mineral Class: Beryl (Aquamarine);
- Aquamarine has a distinct greenish blue to blue color. Unlike emerald, light-colored stones in this color range are still called aquamarine. The stones that are richly colored are the most desirable, and the stones with a very pale color are made into inexpensive jewelry. Aquamarine differs from emerald in another way - it normally has far fewer inclusions and fractures.
